How do our traffic marshals handle unexpected hazards on-site
Maintaining a level of heightened alertness at all times is a must for our traffic marshals. They do a continual search of the location for possible dangers, keeping a watchful eye out for any changes in the circumstances or unforeseen impediments that can put pedestrians or vehicles in danger.
When an unforeseen danger is discovered, traffic marshals immediately conduct an assessment of the situation in order to identify the degree of risk and the most suitable line of action. By doing this examination so quickly, they are able to successfully react to new dangerous situations.
Upon identifying a hazard, traffic marshals take prompt action to mitigate the risk. This may include:
- Repositioning signage or barriers to redirect traffic
- Alerting relevant personnel about the danger
- Temporarily halting traffic flow if necessary
